Vector addict

Illustrator is one of the most important tools as a designer, I've been using it for 10 years now and declare myself a vector addict, I made these 5 years ago but they are still my favorites.

Fusion!

As I promised, the photos of one of my stands in Fusión, colorful as it can be.
What I like about the people who buy my art is that they really fall in love with the piece, they identify with it, specially if it looks just like their cat sleeping on a kitchen chair.

Floating wishes

When I was a child there were no spongebob squearpants balloons for Reyes, they used to be beautiful and crazy colored balloons!  You could tie up your wishes and let them fly into the sky. I miss being a kid..

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that man selling the same balloons I loved back then, obviously I couldn't resist buy some of them and take pictures of their beautiful shapes, I still don't know how it's made, if someone knows how to do this... please let me know!!

Sometimes when you need a little bit of inspiration, you just need to take a look outside the window. If you're lucky, you may find something like this.

The 43,200 minutes production

After the first exposition in Fusión, projects started to come, I created 5 characters and painted 50 wooden boxes for Wetback Audio www.wetbackaudio.com . Fulfilled with colors I painted one by one including the Wetback logo. It was a big challenge!

It took me 43,200 minutes (a month) to paint them all. It was a great satisfaction to see it all finished. I stared for hours...

Art on wood

I've been painting my whole life, but this is where I started to paint and sell my art, back in 2002. The acrylic paint is the best to use on wood surfaces: bright colors, quick dry... I love it! Some of this boxes were my ticket to a very nice Art & Design bazaar here in Mexico City called Fusión www.proyectofusion.com.mx it was a very important key for me to develop and I was surrounded by very talented people. I sold them all the first weekend! I'll show you my stand photos in a future post. Have a nice week!

Welcome to Terciopelo!

Hello, this is officially my first post. Welcome to Terciopelo! This blog will show you my work as an artist and designer plus a little bit of my favorite pics, websites and inspiration I've been gathering along the way. This new year is full of interesting projects, I am very excited about everything that will come from now on.
